Glen Tetley: Pierrot’s Tower

1995 / 58 min. / color
Directed by Michael Blackwood

Narrated by the choreographer

Centered around his 1995 staging of Voluntaries, one of the choreographer’s most beautiful and moving ballets, Glen Tetley: Pierrot’s Tower presents an eye opening peek into the creative process of dance. “I have always wanted to be free,” says Tetley in this portrait, explaining why he never had an exclusive association with one particular dance company. As a result he led an extremely varied life in dance, working with many superior talents in many places, enriching the repertoire of the great dance companies all over the world with his ballets. Narrated by the choreographer himself, Tetley speaks on and off camera about his inspiration, his sources and his vision.
